Hansen Hobbies

FAQ

General:

Why do you offer "deluxe" and "economy" products?

Being a hobbyist myself, I understand that the commonly available solutions to a problem can be unjustifiably expensive. I have come to learn that there is always a less expensive method to performing a task and make it my goal to sniff it out. For example, servo wire is expensive compared to other commonly available wire like that used in the auto or computer industry because it is a specialty product. I found a company that would make similar wire for a lower cost. The wire isn't as flexible, but is still great for lots of applications.

Hansen Hobbies Kits:

Are your kits hard to build?

We always use quality components and full-spec printed circuit boards - something not very common for electronics kits. If you're a kit veteran you may be used to big single-sided pcb's with bulky components. Our designs are likely much more compact, and may have smaller solder pads and components than what you're used to, but we're confident that anyone can assemble them. Our double-sided pcb's with plated-through holes make soldering a breeze. Plus our instructions with color images will keep you on the right track.

I was just getting ready to solder the last resistor in place when it fell out of my hand and skipped off the table. I tried to catch it in my lap but it got away from me and bounced underneath my workbench. I was on my hands and knees for an hour looking for it and even got spiderwebs all over me but I still can't find it - what should I do?
